The Big Picture—a future-focused impact analysis—supported Knowit in engaging its leadership team in identifying and tracking societal trends and how these affect sustainability-related risks and opportunities.
The aim was to inform the company’s strategy work and ensure that Knowit is addressing material societal challenges and leveraging this long-term thinking to achieve competitive advantage and improve resilience.

The ask
Conduct an analysis of how Scandinavian society is evolving to 2030 in ways that are relevant to the IT sector.
The purpose:
o Meet CSRD IRO’s disclosure requirements.
o Inform Knowit’s strategy update.

The approach
We collected research from respected institutes with knowledge of environmental, economic and social trends relevant to the IT and digitalization sector and Scandinavian markets. Based on this analysis, we presented the sector’s potential impacts on people and the planet and the risks and opportunities an evolving society poses to the sector and its value chain.
In groups, we conducted interviews with the leadership team to:
Explore how leaders see their business’ role in a changing world,
Map evolving sustainability risks and opportunities.
Identify potential gaps in Knowit’s current business model against future-focused risks and opportunities.
